Harry Clayton-Wright, a performer, Piscean and YouTube Sensation, was born a baby in the city of Nottingham. From a very early age Harry realised he was special and would teach himself to sing and dance accompanied by the latest 'Now That's What I Call Music!' compilation CD. Interested in fashion, Harry invested in elasticated bow ties and jelly sandals.
Moving to a small village in Lancashire at the age of eight, he let education do it's thing and eventually left school with his GCSEs and limbs intact. He then made the executive decision to study Performing Arts in Blackpool. Developing his craft he would create contemporary dance routines about the life of a washing machine, spend hours trying on fur coats in the costume cupboard and enjoy realising that skills he had spent years learning were not practically useful for anything and also non-transferable. Luckily, in an exciting development to the story, Harry was spotted in his last college show at The Grand Theatre in Blackpool. It was a variety show unlike any other that lead to him being spotted. Harry was hand-picked by the Entertainments Manager from Butlins, Skegness and would go straight into work as the host of a Blues Brothers experience show. It was this summer season at Butlins in 2007 that taught him how to win over drunks and how to entertain in the face of adversity.
After that summer and at the tender age of eighteen, Harry spent a year in London learning how to run away when being mugged and the art of commuting. Returning to Butlins for another summer season, Harry worked as a dancer and singer in a disco and summer party show. It was at this time that Celine Dion came into his life and become a huge inspiration. She still is.
Returning to the north, he started work for Merlin Entertainments and spent a good few months in a shark tunnel whilst dressed as a pirate. Being a water sign, this was a lovely period and he would enjoy talking to the sharks and making friends with the fish. However, it was also a dark time with Harry regularly being attacked by stag and hen parties whilst dressed as a six foot octopus on Blackpool promenade. He still shudders when hearing the phrase:
“GIRLS ON TOUR!”
It was at this point that Harry decided he wanted to achieve his lifelong ambition of becoming a bona fide YouTube sensation and to do this he needed money for a computer. Appearing on a popular television game show (the one with all the red boxes), he flirted his way to winning some cash and set off on his online journey.
As well as exploiting himself on the internet, Harry is a regular performer on Carnesky's Ghost Train. A part-ride, part-theatre, performance art ghost train, created by Olivier Award winner and ever fabulous, Marisa Carnesky. The notable highlight? Sniffing Derren Brown.
Harry is very excited for the future. He recently reached one million total views on YouTube and is lining up performances, keeping supple by sitting with his leg behind his head, dreaming of being an underwear model, researching a breakthrough in sequin technology and working out a way to be the face of Jamaica Ginger Cake.
